Hysterectomy

Hysterectomy is the term used for surgical removal of all or part of the uterus. The common causes for which hysterectomy may be performed are:

  •  Fibroids
  •  Endometriosis
  •  Abnormal bleeding (that cannot be controlled by other means)
  •  Prolapsed uterus
  •  Pelvic inflammatory disease
  •  Cancer of cervix, ovaries or uterus
  •  Endometrial hyperplasia (pre-cancerous condition)
