Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is the term used for surgical removal of all or part of the uterus. The common causes for which hysterectomy may be performed are:
- Â Fibroids
- Â Endometriosis
- Â Abnormal bleeding (that cannot be controlled by other means)
- Â Prolapsed uterus
- Â Pelvic inflammatory disease
- Â Cancer of cervix, ovaries or uterus
- Â Endometrial hyperplasia (pre-cancerous condition)
